đStrawberry Season at the Homestead: From Plant City Fields to Our Kitchen
Nick RussoShare
Thereâs something truly special about strawberry season here in Florida especially when you live a short drive from Plant City, the heart of strawberry country.
This past Sunday, we spent the day doing one of our favorite seasonal traditions: visiting a local strawberry field and purchasing the sweetest, ripest strawberrries Florida has to offer. Thereâs nothing quite like picking (and tasting!) fresh berries straight from the source, knowing exactly where your food comes from and the hands that grew it.Â
Back at the homestead those strawberries didnât sit long.
As soon as we got home, the kitchen came alive. Berries were washed, sliced, simmered, and slowly transformed into small-batch strawberry preserves and spreadable strawberry jams. This is the part we love most: turning fresh, local ingredients into something that can be enjoyed long after the season ends.Â
Our strawberry preserves are made the homestead way. Slow-simmered to let the natural sweetness shine, with a texture thatâs perfect for warm sourdough, biscuits, or a simple piece of buttered toast. Strawberry season only comes once a year, ad we take our time honoring it.Â
Shopping and sourcing locally is something we deeply believe in. Living near Plant City gives us access to some of the best strawberries in the country (our opinion!), and weâre grateful to support local farmers while bringing that same freshness to your table.Â
As strawberry season unfolds, youâll start to see more strawberry-forward creations coming from our kitchen. Each creation is inspired by the fields, the season, and the joy of preserving something special.
Thank you for supporting our homestead, our small-batch goods, and the local farms that make it all possible. đđ
